Denise has been an educator for nearly 30 years, the last 17 at a small urban charter school where she delights in preparing 12th graders to face the next phase of their lives.

She is very familiar with the anxiety teenagers often feel as they grapple with a future that often feels decided for them –  a theme in her novel.

Denise is currently seeking representation for A Veil of Silver Tears, her first novel. Complete at 94,597 words this YA fantasy is a standalone with series potential. She is a member of Grub Street in Boston and the Salem Writers Collective.

She is delighted to live in Salem, MA (even in October) with her beautiful but neurotic Collie, two cats, two birds, a very supportive husband and two inspiring adult children.
